Excellent location to visit. One must visit during weekdays to avoid crowds. Bottles of water and rainy wear are a must. Black fort walls and structures shrouded in mist or wisp of clouds with occasional misty rain or torrent will create a surreal ambience. Prepare for a good walk with waterproof tracking shoes. This fort is located about 40 km from Pune city. There's a nominal parking charge of Rs 50. You'll find small food stalls around and within the fort premises. The views from the fort are stunning, and its rich history and architecture are evident. The fort spans a vast area, making it an ideal spot to spend hours with family and friends.Amazing place with rich history and scenic views. The trek is enjoyable, with scenic trails and cool breeze. Don't miss the local snacks at the top perfect after the climb. A must - visit near Pune!

Sinhagad Fort turns absolutely magical during the monsoon. The entire trek is surrounded by lush green hills, misty clouds, and waterfalls along the way - it feels like walking through the clouds! The cool breeze, the smell of wet soil, and the panoramic views from the top make it an unforgettable experience. If you're trekking, start early in the morning to enjoy the foggy views and avoid crowds. Don't miss the famous kanda bhaji (onion fritters), pithla-bhakri, and chaas from the small stalls near the top - they taste heavenly after the climb! Parking can get a bit tricky on weekends, and it can get slippery in places, so wear good shoes. But overall, Sinhagad during monsoon is pure bliss - perfect for nature lovers, trekkers, and photographers.

I recently did a solo bike ride to Sinhagad Fort during the monsoon, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences. Riding through the rain with misty surroundings made the journey adventurous and refreshing. The fort looked even more majestic with clouds covering the hills, waterfalls along the way, and greenery everywhere. The cool breeze, light drizzles, and peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect monsoon escape. Truly a memorable solo ride and a must-visit during rains!

A great symbol of Maharashtra's epic history under the rule of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja. The fort is well-maintained and provides amazing views of the Pune city. Try to visit during the monsoon and you will find yourself in paradise among the clouds. Small snack shops are also available throughout the trek within the fort. Additionally, it houses the tomb of Tanhaji which is considered to be something of a holy place by the Marathis. The fort also provides breathtaking sunset views from the side of Kalyan Darwaza. You reach the fort by trekking up the hill. Alternatively, you can also take jeeps in sharing basis from Donaje phata point which takes you up the hill directly to the base of the fort. Entry is free and no tickets are necessary to visit the fort.

Sinhagad Fort is a must-visit historical site near Pune, offering breathtaking hilltop views and a glimpse into Maratha pride and history. The trek is moderately challenging but totally worth it for the scenic sunrise and cool breeze at the top. Local food stalls serving authentic pithla bhakri add to the experience. However, it can get crowded on weekends — best to visit early morning for a peaceful trip. 🌄🏰
