a week agoA Majestic Dive into History with Great Views and Rustic Food Visiting Sinhagad Fort was a proud and rewarding experience. Standing at the Pune Dwar and looking out at the valley gives you a mesmerizing glimpse into the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the bravery of his Mavlas. The Tanaji Malusare Smarak is well-constructed and a must-visit; it truly connects you to the history of the fort and allows you to pay respect to the brave warrior. Practical Tips: The Drive: The route up involves steep slopes and sharp hairpin bends. It can get tough during holidays due to traffic, so ensure your driver is experienced in ghat driving. Parking: There is ample parking available near the top. Please avoid parking on the narrow roads to let traffic move freely. The staff manages the vehicles very well to avoid jams. Gear: Wear good sports/trekking shoes as you will need to climb and walk around to see all the spots properly. Amenities: Unfortunately, the public toilets are in a very bad state and not cleaned. This is the only downside. The Food: Do not miss the local food experience! Vendors will invite you to sit on carpets/mats under the shade of trees. It is incredibly relaxing to enjoy a hot thali of Pithla Bhakri and crunchy Onion Bhaji (Kanda Bhaji) with the cool breeze blowing. There are also plenty of stalls for Kulfi, raw mango, and snacks along the way. A must-visit for the history, the vibes, and the food!

in the last weekThe short trek to the fort is worth the time and effort for the mesmerising views of the western ghats & the story that unfolds as you climb the hill. Must visit for nature lovers and those interested in the Indian/Maratha history. The climb usually takes 20-30 minutes plus the photo-ops that you can’t avoid as the place has nature and rustic fort remains everywhere. There are food stalls at a couple of places that offer decent food and snacks. While descending it will only take 10-12 minutes if you come down without stopping anywhere.

a month agoThe trek or road climb is fun and not too long. The view from the top is amazing, especially during monsoon when everything turns lush green. Clouds move around you, sometimes covering everything, and the wind feels like it can lift you up. It’s peaceful, refreshing, and worth the trip. Food stalls at the top serve authentic rural Maharashtrian food—pithla-bhakri, curd, kanda bhaji, and lime sharbat. After the climb, it tastes even better. It’s a perfect weekend spot for nature lovers, trekkers, history fans, or anyone needing a break from the city.

a week agoThis place is iconic so not a lot of detail is needed. It's a very very old fort and has a lot of history and it is worth reading about it. It's a moderate to difficult hike so come prepared with water and snacks if needed. It takes about 1-2 hours depending on your pace to summit. The elevation gain is significant - about 1500ft from base and it is a constant climb. But the views at the top and the snacks at the top make it worth your while

in the last weekGreat place to visit with family. A lot of areas of the fort are renovated, but many places still need repairs. It spans over a very large area. You have to self-explore and go in different paths to cover all the areas. The view from the top of the fort is amazing!
