2 months agoSinhagad Fort is a fantastic destination for trekking enthusiasts and nature lovers. The trek is enjoyable and suitable for beginners as well as experienced hikers. One of the biggest highlights is the breathtaking sunrise view, which makes the early morning climb completely worthwhile. From the top, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding hills, valleys, and lush greenery, especially during the monsoon season. The fort is also rich in history and offers an opportunity to learn about the legacy of Uday Bhan and the historical significance of the region. Walking through the ancient pathways and fortifications gives visitors a glimpse into the past while enjoying the beauty of nature. The best time to visit is during the monsoon and winter months. During monsoon, the entire area turns green with mist-covered hills and flowing streams, creating a picturesque landscape. Winter offers pleasant weather and clear views, making it ideal for trekking and sightseeing. Summer visits are also possible, particularly if you start early in the morning. However, the sun becomes quite strong by around 8:00 AM, making the trek more challenging and less comfortable. Carrying sufficient water, wearing a cap, and planning an early start are recommended. Overall, it is a must-visit destination for trekking, history, and nature lovers.

a month agoVisited last Sunday and it was a genuinely refreshing day trip from Pune. To get there, the easiest option from Pune is Bus No. 50 from Nataraj, Khandawa temple bus stop (200m walking distance from Swargate bus station), which drops you near the base of the hill (not at the fort itself). From the bus stop, you have two choices to reach the fort: hop into a shared vehicle running up the road, or trek on foot. For those who prefer driving, the fort has its own parking area, so coming by car or two-wheeler is perfectly convenient. The trek budget around 1.5 to 2 hours for the climb, depending on your pace. It is not an easy trek. The slopes get noticeably steeper as you near the top — so wear proper footwear and carry water. The good news is there are small local shops along the trail where you can stop for snacks and refreshments. The fort itself is open to enter and has a pleasant, garden or park-like feel inside, with food stalls and shops within the premises. There are memorials to historical figures, making it educational as well. It's the kind of place that works well for a relaxed outing with family or friends on a weekend. The view from the top is the real highlight! A sweeping panorama of the surrounding hill ranges that is absolutely worth the climb and the photographs. If you trekked up and don't want to walk back, private shared cabs are available from near the fort exit and run down to the base near the bus stop. From there, Bus No. 50 and 52 both head back towards Swargate in Pune city. Overall a well-rounded destination; accessible, scenic, historically interesting, and suitable for all kinds of visitors. Strongly recommend for a Sunday outing.

6 months agoSinhagad Fort is an amazing place to visit, especially for trekking and nature lovers. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunrise and monsoon season. The historical importance of the fort makes the experience even more special. You can also enjoy simple local food like pithla bhakri, which tastes amazing after the trek.

a month agoIt is one of the good places to visit with family. The treck was not difficult and my parents and kids easily covered the fort. The local food is tasty and has healthy options. The thick curd and pitla bhakri is available from over decades.
