2 weeks agoI visited Shaniwar Wada in January this year, and it was one of the most memorable places I explored in Pune. Walking through the historic gates and ruins gave me a glimpse into the rich history of the Maratha Empire. The architecture, massive walls, gardens, and open courtyards are truly impressive and make the place feel grand even today. January was a great time to visit because the weather was pleasant and comfortable for walking around the entire fort complex. I spent a couple of hours exploring different sections, reading about the history, and taking photographs. The evening atmosphere was especially beautiful, and the well-maintained surroundings added to the overall experience. A few tips for visitors: • Visit during the morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds and enjoy better weather. • Wear comfortable footwear as there is quite a bit of walking inside the complex. • Carry a water bottle, especially if you plan to spend time exploring every corner. • Be careful on uneven stone surfaces and steps in some areas. • Help keep this historic monument clean by avoiding littering. I would highly recommend Shaniwar Wada to history lovers, families, students, and anyone visiting Pune for the first time. It is not just a tourist attraction but a place where you can connect with Maharashtra's heritage and culture. Definitely worth a visit and an important landmark of Pune. 😊🏰📸✨

2 weeks agoHad a wonderful visit to Shaniwar Wada in Pune! Although there was a large crowd and the place was quite busy, the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. Right from the entrance, there were many small local vendors selling delicious kokum drinks, kachi kairi (raw mango treats), and other refreshing snacks, which added to the overall experience. I also loved the small stalls offering mehendi, tattoos, and various local items. These little attractions made the visit even more interesting and gave the place a vibrant charm. Despite the summer heat outside, the interior of Shaniwar Wada felt surprisingly calm, spacious, and peaceful. Walking through the historic fort and exploring its architecture was a great experience. My suggestion for visitors is to plan their visit after 4 PM during the summer season. The weather becomes much more pleasant, the sunlight is less harsh, and you can enjoy the beauty of the place comfortably. Overall, it was a memorable visit that combines history, culture, local flavors, and a lively atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting if you're in Pune!

a month agoGood place to visit and chill. The climate in Pune was really nice and cool — coming from Mumbai, the weather felt much better with a good breeze. Visited on a Monday so it was less crowded and peaceful. The fort has an old historic vibe and looks great in pictures too. Had a good time here overall.
