I don't know how people rate historical monuments but if you ask me, it's 5 stars.. of course! I mean.. the sheer fact that this monument stood the test of time and withstood nature for hundreds of years is a wonder in itself. The place itself is not too big however, it is beautiful. The long lines of wooden pillars, the lovely backdrop, the multiple picture points... Overall, if you are thinking of a photoshoot, with traditional attire, it is your place. However, if you go there just to learn about the history of the place, you get additional brownie points. Been there a few times... Kinda like this place and the vibe, especially during early mornings. Its peaceful and serene. The tickets can get be booked on a QR code on display right in front of the entry gate. So chill, it's easy! Hope you enjoy your visit.

Located in the busy lanes of old Bengaluru near KR Market, a visit to Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace is like stepping into a different century altogether. Though modest in size, the palace carries an aura that immediately transports visitors into the glorious era of the Mysore Kingdom. Built in the late 18th century by Tipu Sultan, this summer retreat is a fine example of Indo-Islamic architecture. The two-storied structure, resting on a raised stone platform, is primarily made of teak wood. And the moment one enters, the beauty of the intricately carved wooden pillars and elegant arches becomes evident. The symmetry in design, the delicate floral motifs, and the old yet dignified wooden balconies reflect the artistic excellence of that period. The entry fee here is only Rs. 20 for Indian citizens and Rs. 250 for foreign nationals. I spent more than an hour here, closely observing the construction techniques, the detailing of the arches and the careful preservation maintained by the authorities. The open corridors on both floors, supported by rows of polished wooden columns, create a soothing play of light and shade. The small museum inside displays portraits, historical notes, and artifacts connected to Tipu Sultan and the Mysore Kingdom. Though limited in scale, it adds depth to the historical narrative of the site. The maintenance of the monument is commendable and despite being located in a crowded commercial area, the premises are relatively calm and well kept. For history lovers and architecture enthusiasts, this site offers not just a visit, but an experience — one that gently places the visitor into a dream sequence of royal legacy and resistance.
