a month agoCharminar is one of the most iconic landmarks of Hyderabad and a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the city. The monument is beautifully designed with impressive architecture and historical charm that reflects the rich heritage of the Nizam era. Seeing the massive four minarets up close is truly an unforgettable experience. The area around Charminar is always lively and full of energy. The surrounding markets are famous for bangles, pearls, street food, perfumes, and traditional Hyderabadi items, making the visit even more exciting. The atmosphere becomes especially vibrant during the evening when the monument is beautifully illuminated. However, the place is usually extremely crowded, especially on weekends and holidays. Due to the heavy crowd, the police continuously make announcements on loudspeakers asking visitors to stay alert, protect their belongings, and be careful of pickpockets and theft. These announcements are repeated regularly, which clearly shows that visitors should remain attentive while exploring the area. Traffic and parking nearby can also be challenging, and walking through the crowded streets requires patience. Despite this, the charm and historical importance of Charminar make the visit completely worth it. Overall, Charminar offers a perfect blend of history, culture, shopping, and local food experiences. It is one of the true symbols of Hyderabad and definitely a place every traveler should visit at least once.

a month agoVisiting charminar is like walking through the history. Amazing place to be in if you are in Hyderabad. Whether you are someone who loves historical places or If you are someone who loves street shopping or someone who loves street food this place satisfies all. Ofcourse too crowded during weekends and evening hours, one can choose the day and time to come depending on their convenience. Ensure to park your vehicle in proper designated parking places only or you may be fined. Options of buying budget friendly bags, ornaments, Toys for kids, key chains, pearl necklace are available. Spend the evening here once.

a month agoCharminar is truly the main attraction and heartbeat of Hyderabad. Seeing it in person feels completely different. The monument looks even more beautiful and grand up close, especially during the evening when the whole area becomes lively and full of energy. One interesting experience was climbing the narrow and very small staircase inside Charminar to reach the upper floor. The stairs can feel a bit tight, but once you reach the top, the view is absolutely surreal. You can see the busy streets, markets, and the vibrant atmosphere of old Hyderabad from above. The shopping market around Charminar is another major highlight. There are so many shops selling bangles, pearls, perfumes, clothes, and local street food, making the entire area feel colorful and exciting. It’s a perfect place to explore, shop, and enjoy the local vibe. There is a minimal entry fee to enter Charminar, and it is completely worth it for the experience and the amazing view from the top. Overall, it’s a must-visit place in Hyderabad for both tourists and locals.

3 weeks agoIt's located in the older parts of city . The Charminar is well maintained, but the area surrounding it is very crowded, you will find difficulty in walking there . The place is fully filled with unorganised sellers and there .I would suggest to visit in early morning .You have to take auto from nearest metro station to reach over here. I have deducted two stars for improper or no management near the vicinity of Charminar Below I have added history of Charminar Charminar is Hyderabad's iconic 16th-century monument, built in **1591** by Sultan **Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah** when he founded the city as his new capital .According to popular legend, the Sultan constructed this magnificent structure to commemorate the end of a devastating **plague** that had ravaged the city, as a thanksgiving tribute to Allah . The monument stands as a masterpiece of Indo-Saracenic architecture, featuring **four grand minarets** (one on each corner) rising 56 meters high, with a mosque on the top floor . Beyond its religious significance, the four pillars are said to represent the first four caliphs of Islam, and Charminar has become the official symbol of Hyderabad, even incorporated into Telangana's state emblem . Over 435 years old, this historic landmark remains the heart of Hyderabad, surrounded by bustling markets and embodying the city's rich cultural heritage .
