a month agoIf you find Dadar Chowpatty a bit too overwhelming or dirty, Veer Baji Prabhu Udyan (also known as the Baji Prabhu Deshpande Garden) is the perfect seaside sanctuary. Located just a stone’s throw from Chaityabhoomi, this park offers one of the most serene ways to enjoy Mumbai's coastline. The "Front Row" Sea Link View The standout feature of this park is the spectacular view of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. Because the park is tiered and slightly elevated, it offers a clean, panoramic vista of the Arabian Sea that feels much more private and polished than the open beach. It is arguably the best spot in the area for sunset photography—the bridge looks like a harp suspended over the water as the lights flicker on. A Compact Oasis Well-Maintained Greenery: Unlike the dusty patches of the main beach, this garden is lush, well-manicured, and flush with coconut and palm trees. It’s a "narrow but deep" stretch of land that maximises its seaside real estate beautifully. Great for All Ages: It features a dedicated children's play area with rubberised flooring (much cleaner than beach sand) and a paved track popular with evening joggers and senior citizens. The "Kirti College" Vibe: Located near Kirti College and Shivaji Park, the crowd is a mix of students, families, and fitness enthusiasts, creating a safe, vibrant community feel. Things to Keep in Mind The "Busy" Factor: Because it is a small, high-quality space, it gets very busy in the evenings and on weekends. It is a favourite for local residents, so don't expect a secluded retreat during peak hours. Seating Challenges: Due to the crowds, finding a vacant bench can be a real struggle. Many visitors end up standing near the railings or sitting on the tiered stone edges. If you’re looking for a quiet place to sit and read, aim for a weekday morning or early afternoon. Verdict: It’s a "small but mighty" park. While you might have to fight for a seat, the view and the breeze make it entirely worth the effort. It’s the perfect place to "withdraw from the madness within the madness."

8 years agoVery beautiful and peaceful place. The play area for children is having a lot of slides and swings that are well maintained. Mornings seem beautiful here and the sunset adds beauty with sun setting on the sea. The smog lately though doesn't allow a clear view of the Worli sealink.
