3 months ago⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Vasai Fort / वसईचा किल्ला — Vasai West 🏰🌿 As someone born and brought up in Vasai, this place isn’t just a tourist spot for me — it’s a part of my life, my childhood, my memories, and my identity. 🫶 I’ve visited this fort more than 100–200 times, and every single visit still feels special. वसईचा किल्ला holds a deep emotional place in every वसईकर’s heart. ❤️ This fort is vast, beautiful, historic and full of peace. 🌳 It’s surrounded by lush green trees on all sides, and one end of the fort touches the famous Vasai Dock. ⚓ If you’re into history, nature, photography, or even just calm vibes — this place is perfect. ☀️📸✨ History & Pride 🏹 This fort has seen the legacy of Marathas, Peshwas, and the Portuguese. It is especially known for Chimaji Appa (brother of Bajirao Peshwa), who fought and reclaimed this fort back from the Portuguese. 🛡️🔥 The entrance itself greets you with his statue — a reminder of bravery and pride. ✨🗿 Why This Place is Special 🤍 I have come here with: Friends 👬 Parents 👪 Cousins 👭 School picnics 🎒 Even solo, just for peace 🌿😌 For every phase of my life, this fort has always been there. Cultural Importance 🎬 Many movies and songs have been shot here — Most recently, a song from Kantara Chapter 1 was filmed here. 🎥 This place is loved by locals, tourists, and Mumbaikars alike. 🏞️ Must-See Inside 🔍 The massive stone walls 🧱 Huge open courtyards 🏞️ Old Portuguese structures 🕍 The Watch Tower – चक्री जिना (a must-visit + very photogenic 👀📸) If you plan to explore the entire fort properly, keep at least half a day — it’s truly big. 🕒 Final Words 💛 This is not just a fort. It’s a feeling. A memory. A connection. 🌙 If you are coming to Vasai — you cannot miss वसईचा किल्ला. 🌿 Highly recommended. 🤍 5/5 — Always. Forever. ⭐️

a month agoThe complex is huge. Although everything is in ruins, it's grandeur can be felt even today. Hard to believe that such a complex is present in near vicinity of Mumbai/Thane. It seems either people have already visited this place or they still don't know about it. Important points to consider: 1. Get your own vehicle as this place is quite far. Don't rely upon cab services. You won't get anything. 2. Cellular Network is erratic at best. 3. Many patches of the roads are bad. 4. No washrooms available. 5. Keep aside 2 hrs to explore the places. 6. You will find quite a few families enjoying there so security is NOT an issue.

2 months agoVasai Fort's history began in the 15th century as a strategic hub for the Sultan of Gujarat, but it is most famously associated with the Portuguese who conquered and rebuilt it in the 1530s, making it their main naval base in Western India for over two centuries. It was eventually captured by the Marathas under Chimaji Appa in 1739. The fort is ruined and mostly full of couples doing photoshoot the fort is protected by Archeological survey of India the authority should maintain cleanliness . You can get a bus from vasai station to virar killa 10 rupees per person last bus will be at 9:00 PM.
