The best, Hidden and the most Underrated Fort in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region which just mostly a 10 Minutes walk from Sion Railway Station. Very Calming Place with Cool vibes of the surrounding Garden and absolute History which provides Panaromic views of the entire Mumbai City 😍, You name it from Sion Railway Station Station to Kurla Railway Station F.O.B and the Hills of Ghatkopar beyond, from Eastern Express Highway to Mumbai - Navi Mumbai Atal Setu Bridge and the views from the Skyline of Dadar to The Metro Bridge near Bandra Railway Station over the Bandra Creek and the Bharat Petroleum Factories can also be seen with Hills of the Eastern Mumbai 😍 , everything from Central Line, Harbour Line and Western Line is visible 😍🚆👍🏻

Construction: Built by the British East India Company between 1669 and 1677 under Governor Gerald Aungier, it served as a lookout point. Strategic Location: It marked the boundary between the British-controlled Parel Island and the Portuguese-held Salsette Island. Remains: Visitors can find parts of the fort walls, parapets, a tank, and a cannon. Views: The fort offers excellent views of the surrounding city, including modern skyscrapers, despite its fragmented state. Visiting Information Location: Sion East, near Sion Railway Station. Entry: Free. Best Time to Visit: November to February (pleasant weather) or during monsoons. Vibe: A peaceful spot for history buffs, photographers, and couples, often described as a hidden gem. What to Expect A climb up a hill to reach the fort. A mix of historical ruins and natural greenery. A great vantage point to see the contrast between old and new Mumbai.

Sion Fort is a peaceful little escape in the middle of the city. The climb is easy and takes just a few minutes, and once you reach the top, the view of Sion and the surrounding areas is really refreshing. It’s a great spot for a quick morning or evening visit, especially if you enjoy calm places and a bit of history. The fort is simple but well maintained, and the greenery around adds to the charm. A nice place to relax, walk around, and enjoy the breeze.

Sion Fort is a small but historically important spot tucked away in the busy heart of Mumbai. Built by the British in the 17th century, the fort sits on a hillock and once served as a watchtower to keep an eye on the surrounding areas. Today, it has been converted into a peaceful garden maintained by the BMC, making it a nice place for a short walk or some quiet time away from traffic and crowds. The fort structure itself is quite simple and not very well preserved, but the greenery and calm atmosphere make it pleasant to visit. It’s ideal for locals, morning walkers, and history enthusiasts looking for a quick, relaxed stop rather than a major tourist attraction.
