Visited Sanjay Gandhi National Park on 1 Jan 2026, and it was a refreshing escape from the city. The park is vast, green, and well-maintained, offering a perfect blend of nature and wildlife within Mumbai. The Kanheri Caves are a must-visit and add great historical value to the experience. The safari and walking trails were enjoyable, and the atmosphere was peaceful despite the New Year crowd. A great place for nature lovers, families, and photography enthusiasts.

Huge National Park,so many types of animals are visible but you need to take a bus or Bicycle to see whole park. Don’t try to walk and cover whole park you will drained very soon. For bicycles you have pay 80 Rupees extra and for buses I think you have to pay 140 rupees extra per person. It’s kind of business but it worth coz you will able to see many thighs while in the bus. I had a great chance to see leopards 5 years ago,but not this time 😁😂 Good for morning walk and children’s as they have huge place for children’s. Some food stalls.

I recently visited the Kanheri Caves and it was a truly memorable experience. The place is calm, peaceful, and surrounded by greenery, making it a perfect escape from city life. The ancient rock-cut caves and carvings are impressive and full of history. It’s a great spot for both nature lovers and history enthusiasts. There is quite a bit of walking involved, so wearing comfortable shoes is recommended, but the scenic views and overall vibe make it completely worth it. I would definitely recommend visiting this place, especially in the morning.

Was a wonderful, refreshing experience at Sanjay Gandhi National park. We rented bikes from private sellers outside, but one could rent government bikes inside the park too. You just need to buy a ticket for yourself and your bike (rs44). We cycled up to Kanheri caves, which closes at 5:30pm atleast on Sunday. So start your journey accordingly. It's 7km from the entrance gate till the cave. Near the cave is all core forest area so best to travel in groups or come down before it gets dark! Rest the park is beautiful. I will come next time for the safari and to see the enclosures. Do check out the cool stuff in their souvenir shop as well.

This place I think is just hyped nothing else , as a tourist its Totallly a waste of money & time... If you're assuming as a zoo or want see some wild animals / jungle safari, then you are not at the right place. Only few Lion, Tiger & Deer is available in the name of 20 minutes Jungle Safari by bus. They just fool people around nothing else , there's nothing the safari just three animals you get to see and pay a lot for the safari ticket and get fooled !! The total area could be used in a better way , but they have just wasted the land over there !! It's a good place for nature lover and only for a forest walking, cycling, boating, and some other activities. But Overall it's just a hyped place and nothing else !!! Not recommending this place !!
