- A very popular fort in Ghodbunder. - It's located in the interiors of Ghodbunder village. - Transport is conveniently available to this place; however, you may have to walk for sometime if you take a public transport like an MBMT bus. - It's close to the Ulhas river. - This fort looks like it's been restored & made new. - This place is serene and offers views of the Ulhas river, nearby houses, forested mountains & far away sky-scrapers. - Locals say that many popular Bollywood movies were shot here. - Overall, it's worth visiting this place considering the old fort, Ulhas river, the forested mountains nearby & once being one of the favourite places for Bollywood film shooting.

This Fort is an absolute Portuguese Era History and is must visit to experience Breathtaking Views of the City and experience Portuguese History. Very relaxing Place and has chill vibes with pretty good breezes of wind. There is an ongoing current renovation but you can still visit this Fort but consider carrying Motorcycles / Scooters instead of Cars since Roads are very narrow and there is limited Parking available as of now. The best time to visit this Fort is the evening Time before Sunset, the Fort offers Breathtaking Views of the Entire Mira-Bhayandar City from Kashmira Hills and Towers of JP North to Bhayandar - Naigaon Railway Bridges (Southern Larger Bridge) built over Vasai Creek of the Western Line. Entire Bhayandar Khadi(Vasai Creek) is visible along with Mangroves and Salt Pans. And in the East, Ghodbunder Town, Hills , Ghodbunder Highway and Ghodbunder - Naigaon Road Bridges are also Very Clearly visible. Such a Beautiful place and that too free of cost, yes, this Place has no Entry Fees . The Fort also has well maintained Gardens from the Portuguese Era and Tree Planted which is approximately 150 Years old !

I visited Ghodbunder Fort today in Mira-Bhayandar, and it was such a beautiful and peaceful experience. The place is clean and well-maintained, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. The morning view was amazing — with fresh air and a gentle breeze that made the whole atmosphere feel so refreshing. A perfect spot to relax, enjoy nature, and start your day with positive vibes. Highly recommended!

It's a perfect example to understand why the historical monuments should be maintained only by ASI. The corporation has spent huge money in construction activity of the fort.. note I said construction and not restoration. The corporation should have spent that money under the guidance of ASI for restoration of the fort. The fort was built by Portugese but today's reconstruction has lost the structural details and converted the fort into a park

A fascinating spot with a deep history involving the Portuguese, Marathas, and the East India Company. The fort is currently under the Archeological Survey of India (ASI). The name "Ghodbunder" stems from its past as a horse-trading port (Ghode = Horse). The Experience: Current Status: Undergoing heavy renovation by the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation. The Vibe: The restoration is quite modern. With new stonework, concrete, and glass ceilings, it feels more like a contemporary building than an ancient ruin. Some history lovers might find it lacks an "authentic" weathered feel. Amenities: There is a well-maintained small garden perfect for families or a quick picnic. Logistics: Access: The approach road is currently a dusty patch (under upgrade). Parking: Small dedicated area available. Entry: Currently free, though this may change post-renovation.
