It was a wonderful experience trekking here at asava fort with group 🌄 🥰. It was very nice to explore. There are two routes to climb, one where from everyone goes by climbing small 2 mountains and then asava fort and another where our team climb which is dangerous one very sleepery and straight, direct from down to fort, but we have done it 🥇 🏆. It was very enjoyable. You should definitely visit one time here, this fort was captured by portuguese but chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj fought and won this fort. ❤️✨. Very adventurous it was!! Will never forget this visit iny life, I was sick, then also I went for trekking 😅❤️.

The trek to the fort is moderately challenging, taking you through dense forests and rocky terrain. As you make your way up, the surrounding natural beauty is captivating, especially during the monsoon season when the area is enveloped in greenery. The fort itself is mostly in ruins, but the remnants of the walls and gateways hint at its historical significance. The view from the top is the highlight of the visit. Once you reach the summit, you’re rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the lush forests and distant hills. It’s a great spot to relax and take in the serene environment, with the breeze carrying a sense of tranquility. Asava Fort may not be a major tourist destination, but it’s definitely worth a visit for those who appreciate off-the-beaten-path adventures and a bit of history. A perfect weekend getaway for trekkers and nature lovers looking to explore something different.

Good climb up to the fort, tiring in the heat, otherwise easy in the rains. Hats off to a local group who had come to repair the cannon placements and look after the water tank & the many trees they have planted around the plateau..will become a nice shaded top in a few years. God bless them

Aasawa Fort is a lesser-known but beautiful one-day trek near Boisar, just about 6 km from the railway station. Perfect for beginners, but highly recommended to go with a guide — avoid trekking solo, as the trail isn't well-marked and there are no shops or locals en route, so carry your own food and water. The trek offers lush greenery, peaceful surroundings, and scenic views, especially during monsoon and winter. It's a treat for nature lovers, with cool breezes, flowing streams, and vibrant foliage. Avoid visiting in summer — it gets hot, dry, and loses its charm. The route is easy to moderate, so most people with basic fitness can enjoy it, especially if you start early in the day. Mobile network is patchy on the trail, so inform someone before you begin. From Boisar station, you can take a shared auto for around ₹20 per person to the base village. The trek itself is a lovely way to disconnect from the chaos and reconnect with nature. If you're looking for a quiet, green trail not too far from Mumbai, Aasawa Fort is a rewarding choice — just plan smart and go prepared.
