⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A visit to Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, popularly known as Sidi Saiyyed Ni Jali, is an unforgettable experience and a true symbol of Ahmedabad’s rich heritage. Built in 1572–73 during the final years of the Gujarat Sultanate, this historic mosque is world-famous for its breathtaking stone latticework, especially the iconic “Tree of Life” jali carved from a single slab of stone. The craftsmanship is so intricate that it resembles delicate lace rather than stone. Standing before the magnificent jali, one cannot help but admire the extraordinary skill of the artisans who created this masterpiece more than 450 years ago. The monument beautifully reflects the fusion of art, architecture, history, and spirituality that makes Ahmedabad a UNESCO World Heritage City. The famous jali has become an unofficial symbol of Ahmedabad and even inspired the logo of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Despite being located amidst the bustling streets of Lal Darwaza, the mosque offers a sense of peace and timeless elegance. The surrounding heritage atmosphere, detailed carvings, and historical significance make it a must-visit destination for history lovers, photographers, architects, and tourists alike. I highly recommend visiting both the front and rear sides of the monument to fully appreciate the beauty of the famous jalis. Every Ahmedabad resident should visit at least once to understand the city’s glorious architectural legacy. Sidi Saiyyed Ni Jali is not just a monument—it is the pride of Ahmedabad and a masterpiece that continues to inspire the world. ❤️ #AhmedabadHeritage #SidiSaiyyedNiJali #PrideOfAhmedabad #WorldHeritageCity #ArchitecturalMarvel

Sidi Saeed Mosque: Where Heritage Meets the Heart of the City. Built in 1572–73 A.D. by Sidi Saeed, this historic mosque is one of Ahmedabad’s most admired architectural gems. It is world-famous for its beautifully carved stone jali windows, especially the iconic “Tree of Life” design that showcases extraordinary craftsmanship and timeless artistry. What makes this place even more special is its location, right on the main road of Ahmedabad’s heritage old city. You don’t need to search through narrow lanes or walk deep into streets to find it. The mosque stands open and visible in the middle of the urban flow, making it easily accessible to everyone. It offers a rare experience: the chaos of city traffic on one side and a calm, spiritual peace on the other. The contrast is beautiful horns, movement, and crowds outside, yet serenity and history within the same space. A perfect spot where heritage, art, and urban life blend together, reminding you that peace can exist even in the busiest corners of a city.

It's the identity of Ahmedabad. Especially old Ahmedabad. For year this place was out of reach because before 2001, Ahmedabad was different. This is not a good place write before 2001 time in Ahmedabad. I have seen this from auto rikshaw many times but witnessed from close for the first time. Amazing work and unmatchable art by Sidi saiyyad. We had a chapter in school on this art. Do experience from inside, i avoide going inside because inwas with family, it was late and it was ramzan so I didn't want to disturb others.

The Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, built by a prominent Habshi noble in 1572–73, is revered for its exquisite jali screens—especially the iconic Tree of Life motif—and is celebrated as one of the finest monuments of Indo-Islamic art in Ahmedabad. Its enduring legacy reflects both its architectural vibrancy and the cultural history of the city.

Sidi Masjid, Ahmedabad A fine symbol of the Sultanate art and architecture of Ahmedabad. The intricate jalis (stone lattice work) here are unique and a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. Located in the heart of the old city, the mosque stands quietly amid a peaceful Mohammedan locality. Anyone can visit here, even Hindus — a serene place where history, art, and faith blend beautifully. A must visit for ART and history lovers.. Small place would take hardly 10 minutes
