3 weeks agoHad been there for a pooja The places cleanliness has improved since the last time I am amazed with the amount of aquatic birds and fishes still exist in and around the Pond and the waddle of the ducks and the turtles are fun to watch. Certain locals use the pond to swim too The only recommendation is that the location municipal corporation should clean it up more often and remove the algae, then the place would definitely look very beautiful.

a month agoBanganga Tank is one of Mumbai’s most peaceful hidden heritage spots — a beautiful mix of spirituality, old-world charm, and history tucked away in Walkeshwar. The ancient stone steps, temple bells, and calm atmosphere make it feel like a mini Varanasi in the middle of the city. Best visited during early mornings or sunset for the most serene vibe. The place can get a bit dirty at times due to ritual offerings, but its timeless character and heritage beauty still make it worth visiting.

2 months agoOn s spiritual trail? Must visit this place. The Banganga water body is considered auspicious and holy.. having a mythological fable associated with Lord Ram's visit to this place. There are several temples around this area which one can cover while slowly walking through the alley. It feels like a faint whiff of benares air within the heart of Mumbai.

2 weeks agoIt is hindu temple and associated with Lord Ram Ji. It is said that spring which keeps the tank full around year is spring which was created by arrow (baan) of Lord Ram ji hence name BAANGANGA! People should stop littering in name if feeding fish and birds.

6 months agoBanganga is considered a sacred and historical place, but upon visiting, it feels very unclean. It makes me wonder why such an important site is so poorly maintained. At the very spot where the arrow was shot to draw water, some drunkards were seen bathing. The water has turned pitch black, though it is full of fish. I hope that things will improve here in the future.
