The surrounding roads are well maintained compared to many parts of the city, but traffic can be heavy during office hours since Nariman Point is a major business district. Evenings and weekends also see congestion due to visitors. Connectivity is strong — the nearest railway stations are Churchgate and Marine Lines on the Western Line, both within walking distance. Buses, taxis, and app cabs are easily available, and reaching from the airport takes about 45–60 minutes depending on traffic. Parking is limited along the road. We spent time walking along the promenade and soaking up the atmosphere — it’s lively but also surprisingly relaxing, especially with the sea breeze. The views are beautiful, particularly at sunset when the sky changes colour and the whole stretch starts to glow. Seeing the famous “Queen’s Necklace” lights come on in the evening was a real highlight. It’s a great place to people watch, sit and relax, or just take a slow stroll by the water. Simple, scenic, and full of energy — we really enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back.

3 months agoMarine Drive : A Surreal Experience Every Time Marine Drive is one of those places that never loses its charm. Sitting by the sea here feels calm, refreshing and almost surreal especially if you come around sunset. I’d strongly recommend reaching by 5 PM : the sky slowly changing colours with the waves in front of you is something you shouldn’t miss. By 6–7 PM, crowds start building up and on Sundays it gets extremely packed so coming a little early helps you find a good spot. The walkway is clean, the sea breeze is constant and the overall vibe is peaceful yet lively. You’ll see families, friends, joggers and people simply unwinding after a long day. Even in crowds, there's a special sense of calm. Whether you're a tourist or a local, Marine Drive is one of the best places in Mumbai to sit, relax, think or just watch the world go by.

The city lights at night are magical and something everyone should experience at least once. The rocks in front can feel a bit scary when you first sit down, but you get used to it after a while.
