The fort comes under the jurisdiction of City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO). It lies in a dilapidated state. Plans are underway to renovate the fort which is in danger of being lost to encroachments. Residents have used the Right to Information Act to save the fort from dumping and debris. A pond in the vicinity that supplies water to the area is also in danger of being choked.[2] There is no renovation or restoration as per the given reference as of January 2018.

If you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful spot to experience true solitude, Belapur Fort is the place to be. It’s a calm and cool location near the CBD area, perfect for those who enjoy nature and silence. The fort sits on a small hill covered with greenery, making the walk up quite scenic. However, do note that there are no washroom or drinking water facilities, so it’s best to carry your own water and snacks. Overall, it’s a lovely hidden gem for anyone who wants to spend some peaceful time away from the city noise.

Hey, so I went to that fort in Navi Mumbai today, you know? 🤩🤔😊 I always thought the one at the end of Palm Beach Road was the only one, but turns out the real one's on the service road. 😮🥳😎 It's super green and clean there. 🌳🌿✨ It's a nice spot for couples too. 🥰💑💖 There's a little temple inside the fort for Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. 🙏🕉️🚩 You can see the airport from there, which is cool. ✈️😎🤩 And you can spot some birds in the jungle. 🐦🌳👀 It's a one-time visit kinda place, but it's worth checking out. 👍💯😊

If you are looking for a quick historical getaway without leaving Navi Mumbai, Belapur Fort (also known as the Siddi Fort) is an excellent, offbeat choice. It is a quiet spot perfect for history buffs, nature lovers, and photographers. 🏰 History & Significance Built in the 16th century (around 1560–1570) by the Siddis of Janjira, this fort has seen the rise and fall of multiple empires. Strategic Importance: It was originally built to control trade routes in the creek. Changing Hands: It was captured by the Portuguese, then the Marathas (led by the legendary Chimaji Appa), and finally the British in the 19th century. The Ruins: What remains today are the stone walls, bastions, and a few tunnel-like structures that whisper stories of its military past. ✨ Specialty & Highlights Architecture: You can still see the sturdy laterite stone fortifications and the unique architectural style that blends Siddi and Portuguese influences. The View: A short climb to the top bastion offers a panoramic view of the Belapur Creek, the skyline of Navi Mumbai, and the surrounding mangroves. Photography: The contrast of ancient stone ruins against lush green overgrowth (especially during monsoons) makes for moody, cinematic photos. 🕒 Timings & Entry Timings: Open daily from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Entry Fee: Free (No tickets required). Best Time to Visit: Monsoon (June–Sept) for greenery or Winter (Nov–Feb) for pleasant weather. Avoid summer afternoons as it gets very hot with no shade. 🚆 How to Reach Nearest Railway Station: CBD Belapur (Harbour Line). From Station: It is about 3-4 km from the station. You can take an auto-rickshaw (approx. ₹40-₹60) or a NMMT bus towards Uran/Sector 32. Landmark: Near the NMMC Office or on the way to Uran Road. ⚠️ Important Details (Pro-Tips) Safety: The area is isolated. It is not recommended to visit alone or late in the evening. Facilities: There are NO washrooms or food stalls inside the fort premises. Carry your own water bottles. Nature: Be careful of mosquitoes (bring repellent) and be mindful of snakes/insects if you venture into the tall grass during monsoons. Trek Level: Very easy. It is more of a walk up a few stairs than a trek; suitable for beginners and families. Verdict: A peaceful place for a 1-hour visit to connect with local history. Don't expect a massive palace, but rather a silent sentinel standing tall against time.

Visited this place during my Sunday morning cycle ride. Nice historical place but seems to be ignored by Maharashtra Govt to restore it. It need to be paid attention & some structural repairs must be done as early as possible.
